The Courage to Soar – Camp fees $350 For Rising 3rd – 5th grade students, 9:00am - 2:30pm June 1 - 5, 2015

The Courage to Soar “For once you have tasted flight you will walk the earth with your eyes turned skywards, for there you have been and there you will long to return.”
Leonardo da Vinci

“The Courage to Soar” is a hands-on educational adventure in aviation and aeronautics. Young aviators will explore the history and principles of flight from the early days of kites and balloons to present day powered aircraft. Students will learn about the history of aviation through brave heroes of exploration and discover unique careers in the aviation industry. Using science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM), these young aviators will investigate the principles of flight, engage in hands-on aerodynamic activities, examine aircraft and engine design, and visit the Georgia Tech aerospace engineering labs. After mastering the rudimentary physics of flight, aviators will explore basic flight controls, instrument interpretation, and navigation and will demonstrate they have the courage to soar as they practice their new skills on a flight simulator.
